| Provincetown Banner/Provincetown.com July 11, 2003 Friday Night Gallery Stroll If you know Provincetown then you know that most of the galleries are in the east end on Commercial Street. Every Friday night they open their doors, break out the bottles of wine and set their tables to accommodate the slew of art enthusiasts that love to take that leisurely stroll through the gallery district. Heres four new shows going up this week. Breakpoint Underground Breakpoint is truly underground both because it is a subterranean space (located under Freak Street) and because it probably hosts the widest range of emerging artists in Ptown. They offer a slew of local and international artists, many from their sister gallery located in Romania. This week They will feature two locals, the paintings of Carrie Serwetnyk and the Photographs of Annie Card. Breakpoint Gallery347A Commercial Street. 508.487.3771.

| Driskel Vintage Photography Driskel is probably the only photo-centric gallery in Provincetown and they specialize in rare, vintage photography. They usually divide the gallery into two shows, an artist or theme and an eclectic mix from their collection. This week they are showcasing Bauhaus photography and the work of Paula Horn Kotis, originally a New Yorker who currently lives in Wellfleet. Kotis works clearly in the vein of Henri Cartier-Bresson and after being forgotten for decades she is currently enjoying a resurgence.

| Ernden serves up an interesting mix of traditional and non-traditional painting and photography. This week they are exhibiting the interestingly composed paintings of Jonathan Blum. Blum, who lives in Brooklyn, has shown internationally as well as numerous times in Provincetown. He will share the space with Declan Halpin, known for his unique three-dimensional paintings that are often referred to as wall sculptures.

| Silas-Kenyan Gallery Silas-Kenyan specializes in Contemporary Fine Art, a rarity in Provincetown, yet their roster of artists are predominately local. So when you get there be ready for something different with a local flair. This week They are releasing a show two years in the making, the ten year annual joint exhibition of husband and wife Thomas Nozkowski and Joyce Robins. Thomas is considered to be one of Americas foremost abstract painters and Joyce is an accomplished sculpture with numerous accolades. This promises to be one of the best shows of the season, not to be missed.
