Our Fourth Annual Opening Party and Reception
You are invited....
On Friday, June 1, 2001 from 6-10:00 p.m. the Schoolhouse Center will host four special exhibitions to celebrate our fourth Annual Opening Party. Food and Drink will be
provided by Sumptuous Food Caterers of Cape Cod.
Everyone is invited to attend.
The Silas-Kenyon Gallery will exhibit a special presentation of Portia Munsons Green Project. It consists of hundreds, possibly thousands of found green objects assembled throughout the gallery. Munsons assemblages generate a
number of ideas, from how a culture infantilizes women and then markets that notion of femininity, to the way practically everyone shapes a sense of self through the accumulation of disposable things. Ms. Munson is a former Fine Arts Work Center Fellow and exhibits on Cape Cod and New York.
Opposite The Green Project will be a show of larger paintings by Jen Bradley, Barbara Cohen, Marty Epp, and David Jones. Sort of a Girls Rule show for spring (except for Mr. Jones painting of Commercial Street), this is simply a celebration
of some of the most exciting work we saw this winter which includes a discussion of material quantity and architectural space.
In The Driskel Galleries RUNWAY, Photographs by Larry Fink and Vintage Fashion Photography, Works by: Lillian Bassman, William Klein, and Sarah Moon will also celebrate the Centers fourth summer season.
The Schoolhouse Center is located at 494 Commercial Street. The Galleries are open Friday - Sunday from noon. For information please contact Michael Carroll at 487.4800 or mcarroll@schoolhousecenter.com.
