| Narrowland Arts Performed by JAMES LECESNE Narrowland Arts presents MUM, written and performed by James Lecesne on Friday and Saturday, July 13 and 14. Both performances are at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $15.00 and may be purchased at the door or reserved at 508.487.4800 X 105.
JAMES LECESNEs one-man play, WORD OF MOUTH was presented Off Broadway by Mike Nichols & Elaine May in 1995 and won the NY Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Solo Performance. This show went on to be performed in L.A. (Dramalogue Award) and in San Francisco (Bay Area Theater Award), as well in many citiesthroughout the U.S. The short film, TREVOR was written by Mr. Lecesne and received an Academy Award in 1994 for Best Live Action Short Film, Honorable Mention at The Sundance Film Festival, and First prize at The Berlin Film Festival. TREVOR went on to inspire The Trevor Helpline the only national, 24-hour, suicide prevention hotline for Gay & Lesbian Teens. Mr. Lecesne also spent a year documenting and then dramatizing the stories of children of war in THE He most recently adapted Armistead Maupin's FURTHER TALES OF THE CITY, which was aired this past spring on Showtime.
