Narrowland Arts presents THE Mind’s EYE, a series of events, each curated by a different artist who has been asked to present another person or situation that inspires them, and that they think will excite Cape audiences. On Friday, August at 8 PM RICK MILLER and OREN SHERMAN will present The UNIQUE SELF of the ARTIST.

The Creative Person — “THE UNIQUE SELF OF THE ARTIST” is an evening of discussion with images where Rick Miller and Oren Sherman will curate each other’s points of view on the artist and the mind that makes. The artist’s personality is complex based on a predisposition towards creativity along with specific personality traits which influence the creative process. We will look at these unique traits, the extremes inherent in an artist’s person-laity which are necessary for creativity, and tools for enhancing creativity. Rick Miller, a psychotherapist, small business consultant and lecturer with offices in Truro and Boston, has lectured and taught internationally on using creativity and intuition to achieve business success, and has recently produced and released a relaxation CD called “Relax with Rick Miller.” Oren Sherman, on the faculty at RISD, has designed and published numerous award-winning prints, commissions including 8 U.S. postage stamps, and designs for such clients as Steuben Glass, the Olympics and Disney Corporation, as well as illustration of “The Random House Book of Greek Mythology.”

Narrowland Arts presents programs and opportunities for artists at The Schoolhouse Center, located at 494 Commercial Street in Provincetown’s historic East End Gallery District.

For information or an interview with the artists please contact Michael Carroll at 508.487.4800 X 105.

The Mind’s Eye is partially funded by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.
