The Driskel Gallery at the Schoolhouse Center for Art & Design is proud to present an exhibition of photographs by New York photographer George Perkins.

The color photographs in this exhibit of idyllic summers in Provincetown distinguish themselves from the proliforation of amateur tourist snapshots with their seductive interplay of color and light and a highly sophisticated sense of composition and perspective: the side of a red barn in mid-day sun is almost shocking in its simplicity, painterly in its minimalism. In another photograph,a closeup of the hood of a shiny Cadillac, the viewer can feel the heat emanating from the elegant curves of metal and steel, a subtle but highly effective visual
metaphor for the sexiness of summer.

George Perkins is a graduate of School of Visual Arts, NYC. He has exhibited
widely including the Massimo Audiello Galllery in NYC and Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac
in Salzburg. This is his third season at the Schoolhouse Center.
