| DAVID DEUTSCH: PHOTOGRAPHS
David Deutsch brings a painters eye to his photographs, using the lines of driveways and garden paths to compose an aerial portrait of a suburban neighborhood. As in his paintings, the houses are shrouded in anonymity and a vague menace. Without showing people at all, he presents a view of how people live- and from a unique perspective. Skimming 500 feet above the ground in a helicopter with a police searchlight that turns ordinary details into objects of mystery, Deutsch creates his own mythology of an elusive world. David Deutschs work is represented in major museum collections, including New Yorks Museum of Modern Art, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, and the Boston Museum of fine arts, among others, and appears regularly in group exhibitions in the United States and abroad. He is represented by Gorney Bravin + Lee Gallery in NYC.
