| THE PRODUCT By DESIGN is an inventory of Provincetown original artworks, which may be sold or commissioned to architects, designers, decorators, or private clients outside of the gallery system. Appointments may be made with Gallery Director Michael Carroll for individual presentations of high quality works of art with the integrity and individuality of the nation's oldest continuous art colony, and it's premier presentation venue. Mr.Carroll will also place consigned artworks in public access spaces in your workplace or lobby area. |
| RESOURCES The Schoolhouse Galleries are an exciting, multi-functional center for contemporary art in Provincetown, Massachusetts featuring two galleries and special collections. Housed in a restored schoolhouse originally built in 1844, The Schoolhouse has galvanized Provincetown's art community since it's opening in 1998. It has succeeded in bringing together artists and collectors by providing cutting-edge exhibitions and innovative programs encompassing a range of artistic disciplines. The Schoolhouse galleries offer superb exhibition space unmatched by any other gallery in the region. The Center offers contemporary fine art including painting, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, photography, installation, and early photography from the mid-nineteenth to the mid-twentieth centuries. Mr. Carroll's artists' roster has grown to represent an impressive list of established and emerging talent culled from Provincetown, Boston and New York City. In addition to selling the work of more traditional painters, by DESIGN offers unique ideas that can be commissioned as a feature of your planned space. MICHEAL CARROLL
Educated at Emerson College and the School for The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Director Michael Carroll brings more than fifteen years of arts administration, education and management experience to this special project. Long involved in the in the Provincetown arts community, Michael is an accomplished painter who exhibits regularly on Cape Cod and nationally.
Mr. Carroll has been a member of the board of trustees at The Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Special Project Coordinator for The Art Archives and Family Tree Projects at The Provincetown Community Compact, an instructor at The Provincetown International Art Institute and for various private seminars, and curated special exhibits prior to accepting the Gallery Director's position at the Schoolhouse. He is currently curator of The Mind's Eye Events Series and sits on the board of trustees of Narrowland Arts. By DESIGN uses the resources of one of Provincetown's most prestigious galleries to gather and protect it's inventory. These pieces are competitive in any market and offer consistently high quality.
